Lead counsel on a USD 10 million hospital development

Acting as lead counsel on the development of a major foreign hospital in Kenya, involving contracts valued at over USD 10 million, from land acquisition through construction: leading the land acquisition and all conveyancing documentation, and preparing and negotiating every project contract and consultant appointment, including the main construction contract, Project Management Consultancy (PMC) agreements with Indian entities, and the appointments of the architect, quantity surveyor, contractors and other professional consultants, addressing risk allocation, payment and valuation mechanisms, variations and extensions of time, defects liability, termination and dispute resolution.
